HUCK'S THEOLOGY DEGREE

*

Three of the GOP candidates were asked whether they believed the Bible.

"How you answer this question will tell us everything we need to know about you," said Joseph from Dallas, Texas. As he held a Holy Bible up to the camera, he asked, "Do you believe every word of this Book?"

JULIE-ANNIE: "I don't believe every single thing in the literal sense of Jonah being in the belly of the whale. You know, there are some things in it that I think were put there as allegorical."

TG: No surprise there. The Roman Catholic Governor has never claimed to be a Bible believer. But look at this response from the second candidate:

"The Bible is the Word of God, absolutely.

"Does that mean you believe every word?" asked moderator Anderson Cooper.

"Yeah, I believe it's the Word of God. I might interpret the Word differently than you interpret the Word, but I read the Bible and I believe the Bible is the Word of God. I don't disagree with the Bible. I try and live by it."

TG: That is the response from the MORMON, Mitt Romney. Far better than Julie-Annie, and even better than the Baptist minister in the panel as we see next.

REV. HUCKABEE: "It's the Word of revelation to us from God Himself. The fact is when people ask if you believe all of it, you either believe it or you don't believe it. As the only person here probably on this stage with a theology degree, there are parts of it I don't fully comprehend and understand, but I'm not supposed to. Because the Bible is the revelation of an infinite God, and no finite person is ever gonna fully understand it. If they do, their God is too small."

TG: Huckabee ought to sue whoever gave him his theology degree for fraud. He should know the Bible better than my 11 year old, who has only been saved for a year. That's a pretty pathetic response from a Baptist minister. No doubt there are parts of the Bible none of us understand rightly, but the whole of it is not so difficult that my four year old can't grasp it.

Here's another Christian's take on the Huckster:

Huckabee is a Baptist Minister. For starters, he should be busy preaching the word of God, which is more important than politics. Why doesn't he get out of the Presidential race and spend his time preaching the gospel, which is what the people of God have ordained him to do?

Ron Paul is a Baptist. According to a web source, his favorite hymn is Martin Luther's "A Mighty Fortress is our God." This is a theologically-sound hymn from the Protestant Reformation based on Psalm 46, unlike that rock and roll trash that Huckabee pretends is worshipful music. From what I've heard of Huckabee' preaching, he sounds more like a pop psychologist than a preacher of the old gospel of salvation for sinners in Christ the Lord.

On top of this, Paul understands the rule of law. He respects the Constitution as the law of the land. The rule of law is Christian concept based on the Supreme Lawgiver who has ordained all civil governments that exist. However, not only the people, but also the government is responsible to obey the law. (Romans 13) That is why only a Christian society like the U. S. (was?) can forge a government that respects the rule of law.
