Then why not be characterized as being for life?


BTW, Reagan was pro-life. He won two landslides. Bush Sr. was pro-life. He won a landslide. Bush Jr. claims to be pro-life. He won twice. Ford and Dole were pro-choice. They both lost (Ford lost to professed pro-life Carter). The life issue is a WINNING issue for Republicans. Why abandon it?




Giuliani, the former New York City mayor, has seen his polling numbers decline slightly because of his wide difference with most Republicans on the issue of abortion.




Abortion is a LOSING issue for Republicans, yet some dumb ones, like Rudy, cling to it anyway. At least Mitt Romney recognizes the need to give lip service to pretend to be pro-life to appeal to conservative voters.
