In case anybody is still holding out for Fred Thompson after the two articles by Basil Harrington, here is more stuff that ought to scare any honest conservative away from him. This from a neo-con group who is considering supporting him.

Fred called last month for "a tolerant nation" on gay rights.

That leads to such things as queer marriage and discriminatory "hate crime" laws, where if you so much as voice your opposition to ungodly, unhealthy, unnatural, immoral sodomy, you can be imprisoned

Thompson served as a chief backer of campaign-finance legislation, which conservatives say diminishes their influence in politics.

Not to mention that it is a clear violation of free speech rights.

He remains a close friend and self-described "fan" of McCain, a conservative nemesis.

Birds of a feather. Thompson was only 4% more conservative than McCain in the American Conservative Union ratings, which tends to give Republicans about 20% more than the New American conservative ratings, which would have those two in the 50%-60% area. Hardly conservative in actuality.

While his position on abortion has wavered somewhat, he became a pro-life diehard recently while preparing for the birth of his two young children. "I have seen the sonograms of my babies," he told Bloomberg News in mid-April.

Is this sincere, or is it another last-minute "Pennsylvania Road" conversion like we are seeing out of Romney and Rudy?

Irregardless of his sincerity on that one issue, it's obvious that Fred Thompson is part of the Washington insider good old boy club. He will continue to push America away from its biblical and constitutional moorings and toward an international, socialist, New World Order.
